I finish the layouts I start in a class because...

...I bring my pictures with me.

I used to go to a class, make the pages and think, "I'll finish that when I get home." But I never ever did. Just more pages for the Undone Pile. *sigh*

And then I noticed other scrappers bringing pictures to the classes I was taking and teaching.  I wondered if it might work for me, too. Turns out it does because since I started bringing my pictures with me, I skip the Undone pile altogether and get those pages done right away.

Here are some pages I started in the Yearlong Album class taught by my friend, Sara, at The Paperie. And because I had my photos with me, it was quick and easy to finish these at home.

Sweet Dreams Gabriel

I left class with the background made with white and black gesso, Twinkling H2O's, SC Mister Huey Clay and Rhonda Palazzari's Confetti stencil. Then when I got home, I stuck on my photo and added the Thickers and wood veneer heart from my stash.  To finish, I typed up the journaling on my vintage typewriter and cut it into strips before sticking it down.

Here's a closeup.

For the next page, I changed the color palette chose more muted tones. We used a different technique...well, we were supposed to. I didn't get this technique quite right in class but I'm so happy with how the page turned out.

Benny and the Deep Blue Sea

When I got home, I added the Thickers, bubble stickers from my stash and journaling. I wrote the journaling in pencil and I love the subtle effect. I will definitely do this again.

Next week, I'll share the pages I made after taking my friend's Krista class, Keeping Track of Life.

In case you missed it. One of my art journal pages was highlighted on Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's blog today. I'm pretty excited about it. You can read Julie's blog here and see the post I wrote about how I made that page here.

Thanks for stopping by!
