Using some old (but good) supplies to make a new page

Lately, I have been trying to get the supplies I've been hoarding out of my stash and onto my pages. Turns out, family and friends are far more interested in looking at scrapbooks than they are looking at supplies.  Who knew?

Anyway...

For this page, I was able to give new life to a sheet of paper from from my-hands-down-favorite Basic Grey collection, Urban Prairie and a sheet of older October Afternoon text paper.  I didn't have a full sheet of either paper but by layering them up with some cardstock and embellishments I was able to use them together to make a whole layout. I've found that layering is a great way to use up those scraps you just can't part with.

Of all the titles I've ever made, this one is my favorite.

The layout doesn't feel dated (at least to me) because I was able to use the older papers with trendy embellishments (washi tape, flair badges) in a current style (layering).
