Hey, Hey!
I've been experimenting with Zentangles lately. I love how they look so I'm trying it out. The tricky part for me is the straight lines and even patterns. I can't draw straight lines or lines that even look straight so my patterns look wonky. I hope I can fix that as I practice.
For this week, I started with a blue background that I had made ages ago. Sometimes I just splash around some paint and gesso and multi medium and see what happens. These pages usually end up as backgrounds for other pages - like my Zentangle. I actually used 3 patterns to fill the page.
Here's a look.
My favorite one is the wavy lines. Probably because it was the easiest - ha!
This is my big Canson mixed media journal so it took me a long time to fill this page. I think I'll use smaller pages the next time. The texture in the background was sometimes a problem for keeping the patterns even. I do love the color though. Maybe sprays might be the way to go...
I know it's far from perfect but I'm okay with that. We all have to start somewhere when we learn something new.
Thanks for stopping by!

Ohhh I love it! I've read about zentangle some time ago.. I will try it out soon but I think mine will never be so good as yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lindsay. There are a lot of great online resources that break down the patterns making it super easy to do. I've seen your art journal pages so I have no doubt your Zentangles would be awesome!
DeleteIt's very very eye catching! I really liked it a lot!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm also Zentangling for the Index Card a Day 2 challenge. Index cards, it turns out, are the perfect size for zentangling. :)
