Do you doodle?

I doodle-not. (Sorry, sorry. I just couldn't help myself.)

Anyway, I was never much for doodling. It just never occurred to me to doodle. Ever. But recently, the doodles of Traci Bautista have been catching my eye.  I wanted to give it a try. Have you seen this video? How about this one? They're amazing.

So, I bought Traci's book, Doodles Unleashed and took a turn at doodling.  Her book is great, by the way.  It is full of information and inspiration and prompts.  If you're interested in doodling. I highly recommend it.

Anyway, here's what I've made so far that I'm willing to share...

Playing with chevrons...

...and shading...

...and some more lettering. If you look closely, you can see that I've written out the names of all the characters from Gabriel's favorite video game, Super Mario Brothers.

This one was inspired by a prompt. I made random dots and then connected them. Then I was inspired to practice my lettering and shading. It was fun and I love how it looked.

Doodle 5

Here's a close up.

It seems funny to be so deliberate about doodling. Most people doodle without thinking about it but here I am trying to learn how to do it. My plan is to scan these doodles so I can use them in some collages and maybe even some scrapbooking layouts. That would be great, don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

    1. yeah, doodles are great fun and easy to do anywhere. as always, practice is the key. I'm a big fan of multitasking so I usually practice doodling when I'm watching TV.
