January Kit Club: Use It or Lose It

A friend asked me this weekend what I thought about kit clubs. She wanted to know if I thought a scrapbooking kit was worth the money.

And my response was, "Absolutely!"

I didn't always feel this way about kit clubs. I used to be afraid that a kit club would be full of stuff I wouldn't like and wouldn't use. Then The Paperie asked me to join their kit club design team and I was hooked. Every other month I get my kit a early (so I can have my design team projects ready for the 12th) and I swear it's a little like Christmas each time. I'm always excited to see what's in my kit and I have discovered companies and products that I would have missed if I wasn't a subscriber.

So, here are some of the pages I made using The Paperie's January kit.

Go See Do

That beautiful snowflake paper is my favorite from the kit. It's by Carta Bella from their Winter Fun collection. They make the loveliest, thickest patterned paper. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I cut the letter stickers from a 12x12 sticker sheet by Fancy Pants (from their Blissful Blizzard collection) that comes in the kit. I find it hard to use teeny tiny letter stickers but I love cutting them up like this. And I think this is might be a great way to use up old or partly used sheets. I'm definitely going to do this again.

And here's another wintery page...

Help Help Help

I made this page using one piece of beautifully patterned paper with lots of the different embellishments. The snowflakes are from My Little Yellow Bicycle's Wintering Paper Crafting Kit. The Wintering kit has 48 pieces and I used all except 3 this month. On this page, I put a big one through my typewriter and used it as a journaling block.

I also wanted to show you that you can make more than just winter pages with the January kit.  Here's a page I made using a summer photo, a line from a song and my Silhouette Cameo.

Hey Friend!

This kit has the Studio Calico wood veneer letters from the Darling Dear collection and the wood veneer trees from the Wonderland collection. I love those itty bitty trees like crazy! I added some splatters of Studio Calico Mister Huey Clay, a sheet of book paper and some wood veneer people from my stash. (I just learned that Studio Calico has discontinued them - bummer!)

I made the cut file myself for this page myself. The Silhouette software makes it so incredibly easy. Here's a close up.

Hey Friend_close up

I have a few more pages to share with you tomorrow so do come back!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cathie

    1. Thanks, Sara. I love that one too. I can almost hear his little voice whenever I look at that picture. Just for the record, we did help him and then he'd fall or get stuck and start asking for help again. After the millionth "help" I thought it was ok to snap a few pics. : )
